A seminar-discussion was held at Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) on June 5 within the framework of a grant program aimed at establishing a center for excellence in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) to enhance STEM education and developing the capabilities of future and current teachers. The program is funded by the Competitive Innovation Fund (CIF) for Higher Education.

The meeting was attended representatives of the Faculties of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics, Biology, Chemistry, and Geography.

During the seminar, Associate Professor Hakob Tadevosyan, Advisor to the ASPU Rector, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, presented the fundamental documents developed within the framework of the program aimed at ensuring the effectiveness of the newly-opened center. In particular, he introduced the concept and regulations, lab safety rules and guidelines, the strategic development plan (2025-2029), the key substantive provisions, and the key performance indicators for evaluating the center.

A constructive discussion was held on the center's mission, goals, objectives, functions, areas of activity, quality, governance, and accountability mechanisms

Particular importance was given to KPIs, and the indicators for assessing progress under the center's strategic development plan for 2025-2029 were clarified.

At the end of the meeting, the participants shared their ideas and suggestions regarding the development of the center in a questionnaire.
