"Education Improvement Additional Financing" project

 

Increase in the efficiency of reforms in education and science is the most important tool for guaranteeing sustainable development of state, public and individual safety and society. At this stage the priority task of RA Government's education reform strategy is to improve the quality of education. ''Education Improvement'' project is entirely consistent with RA Government's strategy for economic development for 2012-2017. Covering all levels of education from preschool to higher education, ''Education Improvement" project, aimed at establishing an educational system providing services in line with best international standards, at creation of equal conditions for learning for all social groups and at the promotion of scientific and research activities. The challenge to which "Education Improvement" project will refer to lies in the establishment and expansion of the results of second generation reforms in general education, at the same time offering solutions for preschool, secondary and higher education quality and equality issues.

 

''Education Improvement'' project has two goals: further improvement of general education, ensuring readiness of children entering elementary school and improving the physical conditions and the availability of educational resources in high schools and support to higher education institutions ensuring education quality and relevance. This project is based on the results of ''Education Quality and Relevance” first and second projects. ''Education Improvement'' project consists of the following components:
The first component ''Enhancing the Quality of General Education'', which consists of four sub-components:
1.1 Raising readiness of school children and ensuring equal educational opportunities.
1.2 Support to the development of the third level of secondary school.
1.3 Improvement of data collection and monitoring progress in education system.
1.4 Support to the improvement of education quality through the review of curriculum and standards.
The second component is ''Support to the Development of Competitive Fund of Innovations''.
