Discussions regarding the Subsidiary Agreement to be signed between the MOESCS and NACET for the improvement of Education Management and Information System (EMIS).

The sub-component “Improving data collection and the monitoring of education system performance” of “Center for Education projects” PIU together with MOESCS, the World Bank and the National Center for Education Technologies (NACET) are working on improving the Education Management and Information System. This sub-component contributes to the development of evidence-based education policies.
Currently, discussions are underway on the points of the subsidiary agreement , which will be concluded between the MOESCS and NACET based on the developed functional and technical TORs of visualization tools for the improvement of EMIS by NACET with the assistance of the selected Consultants. In this context, on June 28, the CEP PIU respective staff under the leadership of the Acting Director Grisha Hovhannisyan held an online meeting with the representatives of MOESCS and NACET. The meeting was attended by General Secretary of MOESCS Hasmik Hakobyan, Head of the Legal Department Hovhannes Grigoryan, Head of the MOESCS Department of Development and Implementation of General Education and Extracurricular Programs Susanna Azatyan, the Director of NACET Artak Poghosyan and the relevant staff. The focus of the meeting was to discuss the prepared initial version of the above-mentioned agreement for the development of the new modules designed for EMIS improvement.
The final version of the prepared Subsidiary Agreement will be submitted to WB for review prior to sighning..
Let's remind that during the development of the technical task for EMIS improvement meetings-discussions were held with the representatives of MOESCS, NACET, NCEDI, school principals. teachers and heads of relevant regional education departments. The existing problems, as well as the suggestions made were recorded by the Consultants. Taking into account the big number of submitted proposals and the volume of work for conducting the necessary changes in the EMIS, the deadline for the submission of the TOR at the request of the NACET was set July 1, 2023.
It should be noted that the Education Management and Information System (EMIS) is an electronic unified system for collecting, storing, processing data, as well as receiving and publishing reports, through which administrative registers in the field of education of the Republic of Armenia are managed.
