The Visit of World Bank Delegation to RA Regions

From October 17 to 21 education team of World Bank arrived in Yerevan to carry out technical monitoring of the quality and pace of the construction ativities held by ''Education Improvement'' Credit Project. The delegation of World Bank (WB) were on a working visit in High Schools of Metsamor, Ararat, Hrazdan, Martuni and Noyemberyan being reconstructed in the framework of ''Education Improvement'' Credit Project. The delegation included co-leader of the team of ''Education Improvement'' project Nino Kutateladze, consultant-architect Mr. Daniel Dyupeti, consultant-constructor Mr. Alexander Tovmasyan, education expert of WB Yerevan office Anush Shahverdyan and the Director of the subcomponent ''Support to the development of the third level of secondary school'' of ''Center for Education Projects'' PIU Petros Karamyan. Representatives of the World Bank, consultant-architect Mr. Daniel Dyupeti, consultant-constructor Mr. Alexander Tovmasyan together with the Director of the subcomponent ''Support to the development of the third level of secondary school'' of ''Center for Education Projects'' PIU Petros Karamyan were in five areas which being reconstructed, got acquainted with the ongoing reconstruction activities and projects. Let us remind that the implementation of the Project launched in 2015. The reconstruction activities of high schools are carried out in the first stage in the framework of ''Education Improvement'' Credit Project. Let us add that reconstruction activities are carried out according to seismic safety standards. Note that 5 schools were selected on the criteria developed by the Ministry of Education. The start of construction activities was defined in September of this year and the duration of construction activities is about 24 months. The quality of construction was studied during the meetings. Touring both in the construction site and inside the building, the members of WB delegation got acquainted with the work in progress, discussed a number of issues related to design and construction activities. The participants hoped that similar working visits will facilitate the reconstruction process in high schools as far as possible, the expansion of cooperation with the World Bank will contribute to Armenia's education sector.
